For the second year, the CMIL Summer Research Program took place, a 9-week program for San Diego community/junior college students. During this time, students participated in marine science research alongside a graduate student mentor. CMIL graduate student projects included a wide range of topics, including kelp forest food webs, lobster population dynamics, and seagrass communities. This year, there were four interns that shared their experiences – read below for their guest blogs!

We hope to continue this successful program for years to come! If you are interested in applying next year, please contact the program coordinators Jessica Griffin or Lily McIntire for more information.
